DONATE in kind
Wayfarer can always use canned goods, fresh fruits and vegetables overflowing from your garden, clothing, under garments and socks, household supplies like; vacuums, towels, pots and pans, dishes, kitchen utensils and cleaning supplies. Hygiene supplies, toothbrushes, travel size soaps, toothpaste and feminine products. We can always put to use large quantities of food left over from parties, holiday’s etc.

COOKS and SERVERS For Friends, Family, Food and Fellowship
Every night volunteers prepare and serve a meal to 60-100 hungry and homeless of our community! If you would love to be a part of this incredible gift of service check our calendar for openings. Grab some friends and family and share a great meal with people who will appreciate it! (Staff support is available for new volunteers)

FLEXIBLE! For the Organizer
Can’t commit to a scheduled time but still want to help, our donation closet could use your help. Sorting through donated clothing, household supplies and other items is always an area of need. Staff are on site to give you direction Monday through Friday 1PM–10PM and Sat-Sun 4PM-10PM

EVEN MORE FLEXIBLE!! For the Event Planner
Students who need community service hours can organize a canned food drive or sock drive. They can use their creative side and create artwork to be displayed throughout the shelter. Or use their love for cooking and host a mini fundraiser dinner. In the past, girl scouts and boy scouts have done projects ranging from banners and build a bears to building cabinets and outdoor shade structures. Your imagination and time availability are all that limit your volunteer opportunity.

FREE COMMUNITY GIVE AWAY
The last Saturday of every month we give to the community any food, clothing and household items that we have accumulated that we aren’t able to use. We believe that as we share from our abundance, what we need will be given to us. The give away is scheduled from 10-2. Volunteers are needed from 8-4, lunch is provided.

PASSION TO TEACH?
Wayfarer with the help of some staff and volunteers developed a great curriculum to prepare our homeless guests for finding employment, locating appropriate housing and managing daily life skills. With funding reductions we no longer have staff to teach our GRACE (Gaining Residence and Choosing Employment) classes. If you love to teach and have some time, we would love to bring back this awesome curriculum, with your help. This is a big commitment of 2 days per week for 12 weeks. Hours can be 3-4:30 afternoon or 7-8:30 evening.

UNPAID INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE
If you are planning a career in social work, non profit, community development, treatment or health related fields, spend some time at Wayfarer providing direct service to our guests. We need volunteer staff from 5-10 PM every night. Supervision positions require the volunteer participate in a background screening, hair sample drug test, no probation or parole for past 3 years and clean DMV. This is a great experience opportunity for interns and students as well as retired or interested community members.

ANNUAL FUNDRAISER- EMPTY BOWLS
We could use some help on the various committees of our annual fundraising lunch

Complete the volunteer application and fax it to 530-661-2494 or email it with your availability and interest and we will connect volunteers with opportunities. Thank you for your service.
